Things to know about the new R15.

The R15 from Yamaha was one of the first fully faired sports bike that took the Indian market by storm. It continued to dominate the genre of sport bikes and has been one of the favourites. So, to offer more, Yamaha came with an all new R15 which does looks better in terms of looks as well as performance. Let’s take you through the news things that are on board.

1. Style and Features: The R15 definitely is a smaller version of the R series so the styling has been taken straight from the R1 and R6 body work. The new LED headlight with a faux intake brings a much more sportier appeal. The new bubble visor is enough to tuck in and keep the wind blast away which makes it tourer friendly. For the first time, R15 has recieved an all digital cluster which is informative and simple to go through. Also, a slip and assist clutch for downshiting at ease.

2. Engine: The engine is a 155cc, SOHC, 4 valve that now comes with 1mm larger bore, intakes, sports exhaust and variable valve actuation which will make the engine punchy enough even at low torques. The engine now produces 19.3 Bhp at 10,000 rpm and 15nm torque at 6,500 rpm mated to a six speed gear box.

3. Beast of Track: The riding posture is committed with the handle bars low and foot pegs set further back for a focused ride. U-turns on this is much easier and smooth. 41 mm telescopic forks and a ground clearance is at 170 mm. The wheel base has been shortened. The bike now is faster and handles better. The only bummer is the tyre set up which  been better. It also disappoints by not adding an abs.

That’s the R15 for you. Let us know what you feel about this new beast from Yamaha. Also, feel free to ask anything regarding motorcycles and we will get back to you.
